YAY!!! thank goodness. now for how long...we shall see. :D hehehe I need to finish my poncho so she can see it. and i'm working on a blue sky alpaca teddy bear. i'm not using the blue sky alpaca bulky yarn as called for. :) but i'm using Cascade Magnum...mainly b/c i've been DYING to use it. it's nice to work with. it's like knitting w/ a big soft rope. hahaha. i'm so sleepy today. i'll write more later. :)|W|P|109375794736111169|W|P|WELCOME HOME, LILYAN!|W|P|purse.ho@gmail.com8/23/2004 12:02:00 AM|W|P|Jen Da Purse Ho|W|P|I just got back from Canada for a visit w/ a ton of family and to attend a cousin's wedding. i didn't take advantage of a free moment (which i really didn't have) and i didn't go to ANY yarn shops. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! right now i'm kicking myself wishing I had gone to at least one. Esp since I drove right by one in my uncle's car on our way to our good-bye lunch. i wanted to scream "PLEASE STOP!!!!" but i couldn't of course. Plus I don't think the shop was open. boo-hoo.... but the wedding yesterday was beautiful. I gave my mom the latest bag I had made and she loved it. she thought it was cute and small. she's weird. it was a pretty big bag...but that's my mom. so hopefully she'll wear it to church and people will love it and beg that i make them one. :-D tee-hee. I almost finished my poncho. I didn't finish it in time for the wedding. :( NOOOO...but i wore my purple suede shawl and that got some compliments. i think i messsed up on my poncho. It didn't take me TOO long to make, but longer than usual. I finished it while i was at Simpatico yesterday and as soon as i got home, i threw that thing in the washer and turned it on. it felted nicely!! i made it w/ Brown Sheep bulky and some Crystal Palace splash. I took a picture of it PRE-felting, but i forgot to take a picture POST felt...and i left it at Simpatico so people can lust for it. hahaahaha. i'll post the picture later. When i got to the shop today, i showed it off of course and one lady there was all "I LOVE IT!!! WHAT DID YOU USE?!?!?!?" so she bought the same fibers i used to make her one. i felt a twinge of...hmm...possessiveness. hahaa. i should have told her "oh yeah...that yellow brown sheep...yeah...it turns purple . i swear. try it" MUAHAHAHA. sigh. but i'm happy w/ how it came out for the most part. It didn't felt the way i expected length-wise...but it shrunk in on the sides. it's cute. :-D I finished my Noro Daria purse this week. it's cute..but it didn't come out the way i had hoped. I screwed up so it's got a funny lip on it. like it's crooked. latrisha said i did one side too long...and i didn't check that before i stitched it together!! GRRR!! so now i'm all ...ehh....it's ok. :-) i think i like felting bags much better. it's so exciting. i found my camera so i'll be posting pics up soon.
